Site maintenance is a fee paid monthly to keep your site updated with new content that you provide. Most good web sites have new content updated regularly. Fresh content is what will keep your visitors coming back. This is an optional service that we provide for our customers. If you want to maintain your website yourself you can do so.

You need a professionally developed web site, a domain name, and hosting facilities for your web site. You also need the web site to be uploaded onto your hosting facilities and promoted to the search engines.

All of the websites developed by J D Web Design are unique so we don′t have a standard price as such. There are quite a few factors that are going to affect the ultimate cost of your web site. These factors include how many pages you are going to have, if you will sell products on your website, the graphic work involved, and how interactive your future web site will be. No. We discuss with you your web site requirements and then price accordingly and once you have placed an order for your web site with us, that price will only change if your requirements change.

Yes, we offer discounts for schools and non profit organizations.

We basically require a 50% deposit and the balance due on completion and then the website is uploaded on the Internet. However in some exceptional cases we can accept smaller deposits on a case by case basis.

J D Web Design creates web sites for clients who are local as well as out of state. By using the Internet, email and the telephone, it is possible to communicate effectively with clients in any location.

We are always happy to arrange a meeting but in the majority of cases a meeting isn′t strictly necessary and most of our web sites can generally be completed with contact via email and telephone only. During the design process we place suggested web site designs onto the Internet in a private place where only you can view the content. We then liaise with you regularly to discuss the concepts so that the web site design and functionality is exactly as you wish.

The time frame is determined by the size of your web site, the complexity of your site design, and our current client design schedule. If you have a deadline in mind we will endeavour to meet it for you. It is helpful to us if you are able to provide text and photographs in electronic form - for example, the files output by a digital camera and the words in MS word or similar format. If this is not possible, we can help get your information ready for use on the web site. Just like building a house you need materials, the more photos and text you can provide makes building the web site easier for us and results in a better looking site for you.

Yes. The best format for a logo is vector graphic, this is because it can be re-scaled without losing quality. If you have had your logo designed for you, you will probably have a vector graphic. If you were not supplied with a vector graphic you should check with the designer to see if you can get one. If you only have a logo as a print or jpg we may need to re-draw it as a vector graphic.

No. For an extra charge we can source stock photos to use on your site. Or if you need photographs taken we can arrange this for you.

Your web site visitors will see some things differently depending on their browser, screen resolution setting and their individual computer settings and toolbars. We design sites with that in mind and preview them in several browser types and resolution settings before publishing. Obviously as technology alters then eventually all web sites may need re-evaluation.

All our web sites are created with search engines in mind and the web site design is compliant with search engine guidelines. It is a good idea for your web site to be re-evaluated in time as over a period of time the search engines do alter their rules and algorithms and you will want to be certain that your web site is kept up to date and complies with new rules etc.

Yes, you can use any web host you like. Once your website has been completed you will have to provide us with your web hosting ftp login username and password so that we can upload your website for you.

If you have a small web site consisting of just a few pages and will only wish to make changes very infrequently, then usually it is more cost effective simply to ask J D Web Design to carry out these changes for you. Other methods which are frequently chosen are largely dependent upon how much data or information and pictures need to be updated and how often updates need to be done. Of course we will be glad to advise you which method will suit your needs.
